 Tuition for the Great Highland Bagpipe to both learner and experienced player. 

Tuition in snare, tenor and bass drum.   

The band rehearses on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6pm where anyone is welcome to attend.   

Rockingham City Pipe Band can provide a band to suit your requirements or if you prefer we can supply a piper for that special occasion.  

Rockingham City Pipe Band is the current Western Australian 

Grade  4A champion band

Our history

  

Formed in 1995, the band adopted the name Rockingham City Pipe Band from the same area where it originated and remains to date. 

From the inception of the band, it has maintained a policy of teaching and promoting the Great Highland Bagpipe, Snare, Tenor and Bass drumming. 


  • 2003 - The band was invited and attended the Blossom Festival held in Osaka, Japan, Rockingham's sister city. 
  • 2008 - The band travelled to Scotland and competed in 4 competitions over 3 weeks including the World Pipe Band Championship's. 
  • 2023 - One member participated in The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
  • 2024 - The band recently attended the Southeast Asian Pipe Band Championships obtaining second place.
  • 2024 Southeast Asian Pipe Band champion open Tenor Drum - Laura Banks.
  • 2024 Southeast Asian Pipe Band champion open Base Drum - Archie Smyth.
  • 2024 - At the Armadale Highland Gathering State Pipe Band Championships, the band came second in the 4b grade and took 1st place in the 4a grade.


Throughout the years the band has regularly performed in state competition, limited international competition, Military Tattoo's, ANZAC Day parades, Christmas Pageants and performances with local and international artists.


2025 will be a very busy year for the band as they will be attending the State Championship competitions and also the following:


  • The Cape Town International Tattoo - March 2025
  • Southeast Asian Pipe Band Championships - June 2025
